At one point, I made $400,000 in a single year in commission-only sales. That might sound impressive. But I was traveling non-stop, working 16-hour days in 13 states, six or seven days a week, and barely saw my family that year.
Hustle can get results. But the cost can be high when it comes to the other things that matter. As a father with four grown children and a young child at home again, I see that cost much more clearly now, and regret the pain my absence created over the years.
That realization is a big part of why we’ve spent the last few years looking for a better way.
